Since 1939, the Centre County community has been an integral part of our mission to enrich the lives of our residents by providing compassionate health and living services. Community leaders, our board of directors, team members and even our residents/patients and their loved ones help us as we strive toward that mission.
The success of Centre Care is a team effort. While team members at Centre Care are providing direct patient care, many others are indirectly part of the caregiving process through donations, volunteering and resources. We also know our services are integral to members of Centre County and surrounding communities, and we can better meet their needs with your help.
Will you join us in our mission by donating to a Centre Care Fund today?
Centre Care is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and all donations are tax deductible.
Centre Care offers a variety of ways to help support our mission of serving residents of Centre County. We have established six funds so donors can direct any donations to specific areas within our center and mission. Learn more about each fund on this page. You can select your preferred fund during the donation process. If you are unsure, or do not have a preference, choose the undesignated fund.
The purpose of the Neighbors Supporting Neighbors Fund is to help offset the cost of care for residents who do not have the financial resources to fully cover their residence at Centre Care. Each year, a significant number of residents who, through no fault of their own, exceed their financial resources and are no longer able to pay for their care. While some residents qualify for governmental assistance, these programs still do not cover the full cost, with an average gap of $125 per person, per day.
Contributions to this fund are used to help those residents remain comfortably in their home at Centre Care.
Centre Care staff consists of caring, dedicated individuals who truly have the passion to care for and provide services to our residents. Unfortunately, sometimes life challenges individual staff with adversity. The Employee Hardship Fund assists our staff when adversity occurs in their personal lives.
Centre Care promotes staff education, training and encourages them to further their education with formal training. Two forms of scholarship support were created to encourage and support facility staff:
The first fund is designated for high school seniors interested in pursuing an education in the medical field.
The second fund is designed to assist current staff to further their education through formal training including nursing scholarships.
Centre Care was designed with beautiful outdoor lawns and landscaping for residents and their visitors to visit and appreciate the beauty of nature. The Landscape/Garden Fund is used to improve and maintain these areas, including seasonal flowers, mulch and purchase and repair of raised garden beds.
Generous donations are accepted for the general operating costs of Centre Care. These donations are as tax deductible as specified donations. Donations without a designation will be placed into the Undesignated Fund.
The Centre Care Memorial Fund is designed for those individuals who wish to support the mission of Centre Care while honoring the life of a loved one. Gifts may be made on behalf of a former resident, staff member or volunteer. Individuals may also designate a gift to Centre Care through their will or estate planning.
Making a gift through your will for the Centre Care Volunteers Fund can be an important way to help provide services and activities for residents of Centre Care. The Volunteer Committee is committed to enhancing the quality of life at Centre Care, and a bequest gift can provide future support for residents that would otherwise not be possible. Often, a larger gift to charity can be made through a will than an individual can make during their lifetime. A bequest can be a significant way to positively impact the daily life of residents and to help make their time at Centre Care as comfortable as possible.
Bequest gifts can be in the form of a specific cash amount, as asset or a percentage of your residuary estate.
Please consider including the Centre Care Volunteers Fund in your will and make a difference in the lives of those elderly members of your community.
Centre Care is a registered 501(c)(3) and all donations are tax deductible. If you would like to see your donations in action, we invite you to stop by for a personal tour of our center.
